Abstrak

Self-independent character needs to be built with various habits in every lesson in the class. The problem in this research is that students’ self-independent character has not yet developed in Mathematics learning. This research aims to explore the effectiveness of the Team Assisted Individualization learning model in developing students' independent character. The research method used is a quasi-experimental method with a pre-test and post-test one-group design approach. The subjects in this research were grade students in VIII A at SMP Negeri 3 Banjarmasin which amounts to 33 students and the object is a self-independent character of students Data collection techniques use observation sheets and tests. Qualitative data about independent characters was analyzed descriptively and learning outcome data was analyzed using percentage techniques. The research results show that the learning model type of Team Assisted Individualization is effective in developing the self-independent character of students. In general, the self-independent character of the students at the time before treatment and after treatment was the qualification is started to develop.
